Aldi Cashew Crush Bars VS Nakd Cashew Cookie Bar

on

So I really wanted to review these two bars…they are raw fruit and nut bars which provide a nutritious, on-the-go snack. They both only contain 2 ingredients each, just dates and cashew nuts…and actually the exact same proportion of each of these ingredients: 51% cashew nuts and 49% dates. I love that there aren’t loads of additives or added sugar. They are also gluten-free and high in fibre. I am not a fan of something that doesn’t taste nice to me…I don’t care how healthy it is. But with these they are actually tasty…they are more than just about edible, they are something which can satiate that sweet craving I often have. In fact, for me, half a bar provides a substitute for that bourbon biscuit with my coffee. I think they are perfect for children with a sweet tooth too – get children onto these before they discover the world of chocolate…!

Comparison: Nakd VS Aldi’s The Foodie Market

These bars are perfect dupes!!

They are identical in terms of ingredients. Weight-wise they are also identical – 35g each. In terms of taste, I actually prefer the Aldi version 🙂 I don’t know how they can taste different to each other with the exact same ingredients but they did to me for some reason…  :/ Here is the biggie though, wait for it…The Aldi ones retail at £1.99 for a pack of 5 whereas the Nakd ones are 99p each at Holland & Barrett. That’s a massive difference in price, for essentially the same product.

Ingredients are exactly the same…

Verdict

Even if you are not a fan of super healthy-tasting food, these may surprise you. I actually enjoy eating them as opposed to just about stomaching them. And I have heard one or two others, who aren’t health obsessives either, say the same thing about the product. They won’t taste like your fave chocolate bars but they are a very good, healthy, moreish snack (and you don’t get many of those!) I keep a regular supply of these at home 🙂 And they make the perfect, reasonably-priced lunch box treat. Save your money and go try the Aldi ones – they are a steal at that price!

A pack of 5 from Aldi is roughly the price of 2 individual Nakd bars
